I go running every other day when i get the time.

I also enjoy spinning and step classes at the gym - although this isnt running, will these classes help me with running anyway as they work the legs and cardio?

Or am i wasting my time doing the classes?

  1. I do spinning but I cant run...they are 2 different things..

it may help you for the cardio, but they are 2 different exercise..

  2. Theoritically , yes.

  3. Yes it will help.

There are 2 parts to running, getting your running muscles and speed right, and getting your stamina and cardio system right.

Any exercise can work on your cardio system - in fact cycling (or spinning) is often quoted as a good low impact companion to running training.

You arnt wasting your time at all - the variety is better in many ways than just pure running (I run, cycle, and use the cardio machines in the gym and my running is OK now with all of that)
