If i go to military reserves boot camp, do i have to go to the police academy, to become a cop?

if i go to the army or navy reserve, and i do their boot camp, after i want to be a cop, do i still have to go to th academy. thanks

  1. If you want to be a police officer, yes you can join the military police first. Or you can just take a different military job and apply for the police academy once you get out.


  2. Yes, military boot camp & the police academy are totally different things, with totally different curiculums. Believe it or not- even a Medical Doctor needs to go to and pass Paramedic school before he can provide medical care on an ambulance.

  4. yes. everyone who wants to be a police officer has to go to a police academy no matter how much previous training you have had. even after the police academy you are being trained every few months

  6. Yes, infact I just graduated the police academy in Utah and we had a cadet who was an MP in the army. However, most departments look highly on a good military career
