  1. No.

  2. Depends where you live.  Definitely not in the U.S.A.  With the price of gas everyone is laying off the pilots and cutting back the flights.  I would assume that is in most othter countries also as the gas is too expensive.

  3. Yes.

But, you may not be getting a job with one of the old fashioned "majors".

There are plenty of flying jobs available in Business Jets, Charter Services, Privately Owned Planes and others.

Also, jobs are available all over the world - so don't just look in your hometown.

You should be open to experiencing new adventures with flying certification. I have friends who have been "Bush Pilots" in Alaska, the Pacific Islands, Africa, etc. There are PLENTY of Charter Jobs available in the Middle East and India. Lots of companies are building aviation departments to save their executives the humiliation of flying commercially.

Go ahead, become a pilot - there are plenty of opportunities for you.

  4. no

  5. Yes, if you like to spray pesticides.

  6. The job market for pilots is very bad right now, and may or may not get better in our lifetimes.  If it is your passion, you should go for it.  But expect hard times.

  7. Do not fly for the money...if you do you will be disappointed because it takes a long time for it to be worthwhile money wise. Fly because it's your passion.

  8. If you go to pilot training, you will have an easy job, but to discomfortable when you fly a war jet,and it become very scary . The pay is good, and if you are based on an aircraft Carrier you would see the world.

  9. The commercial airline pilot market up til the current fuel crunch is close to what it was pre 9-11.  Once the oil companies are done s******g everyone for the summer and prices go back down the pilot job market should get a little stronger agian.  Seriously though they are higering people with 500 total time.  It is not like in 2002 when I got into the aviation industry and airline pilots were fighting over flight instructing jobs.

  10. At this moment, no.  The airline industry is pulling back and laying off.  Most are encouraging early retirements to retain the younger pilots.
