  1. YEA..HERE IN CALIFORNIA U HAVE TO BE 14 AND OLDER TO MAKE DOCTORS APPOINMENTS CONFIDENTIAL..

  2. since you're over 13 you can ask for them not to tell your dad stuff

  3. Well, it depends -- will your dad be in the examining room with you while they are asking questions?  If so, and you hem and haw about it, you might as well tell him, because hesitating is practically screaming "YES!".

If he's not in the room, then you can ask the doctor to respect your privacy on this and not discuss it with your father.

I'm just trying to figure out why this is such a huge secret -- I guarantee you that your father knows what a period is and that girls get them every month.  It won't make him feel any differently about you.

  4. if hes not in the room im sure they wont. its personal so if you dont want him to know just tell them!

    answer mine too please?

  5. He's going to find out sooner or later. You should'nt feel ashamed, it's perfectly normal, healthy and it happens to every girl. I suggest you just let it happen.

  6. Yes if you ask your dad to wait out side and you want it private the dcotr has to listern by law

  7. Legally, they can't tell anybody anything that happens between you unless it endangers yours or another persons life.

  8. its doctor patient confidentiality its up to you if you want the doctor to tell your dad.

  9. Before you tell the doctor anything, you should ask what his/her policy is. Some doctors do not follow privacy guidelines when it comes to anyone under 18 and if your doctor does tell your father there will be nothing you can do about it. Just ask your doctor if they will tell your dad and if they say yes, don't tell them anything.

You have every right not to tell your doctor if they will tell your dad. It's your body, it's your business. In saying that, I would hope that you are not trying to hide anything that will harm you (suicidal thoughts, rape, repeated unprotected sexual encounters, etc.) but it is ultimately your body and your choice to talk about it or not.

  10. They probably won't mention it to your dad if he's not in the room. You could tell the doctors not to tell him and I'm sure they won't :]

  11. yes you can

    its your privacy

and there supose to keep it

  12. It's confidential, if you tell them not to legally they can't unless it dangers you(which it doesn't)...like you have suicidal thoughts or something...so your good!
