Go to the IRS web site at www.irs.gov and look for Low Income Tax Clinics, they will help you.  No the IRS does not assist with preparing Form 1040X, Amended Return.

they would give you a booklet with instructons on how to do it your self.  I had to file and amenedment this year i just went down to a tax place and paid $30 to have it done and filled.
