Question:

If i got my american drivers licence and i was 16 and drove in a country where its -18 what would happen?

  1. As a tourist, you would have no problems whatsoever, they would recognize your valid license.  If you became a resident and applied for a new license I'm not sure what the rules would be.  I would guess they would issue you a license and you'd turn in your former license.  But it would depend on the rules for where ever you were.


  2. Definitely look into the motor vehicle laws of that country.

  3. I know  a girl who went to Spain and had no problems living there and driving with her licence being 16.

    But I think you should verify depending on the country. Best look up in embassy web of that country ;o)

  4. Nothing because your license is active at 16 from your country of origin, so if you go anywhere else then its still active at 16, despite their laws.

    But i wouldnt recommend driving in another country at 16 years old, most times its a huge difference, and its not worth risking a car accident in another country to get yourself in all sorts of trouble. I would recommend you let the adults drive, wait until you're more experienced before you think about driving in another country.
