  1. Yes, they can send you to jail. It is called desertion and is against the law. God bless.

  2. Pulling a stunt like that will put you on a direct course for a screwed up life.  Suck it up and fulfill your obligations.  Nothing in life is free.  And that includes all that college tuition they're going to pay for.

  3. AWOL, if you go back immediate field grade Article 15

After 30 days you will be held on Desertion, which under exstreme cases can result in life in prison or death.

After 30 days you also receive a Dishonorable Discharge from the military which will impact you ever finding employment or a place to live.  Stay in, its not that bad.  Mostly its Tradoc but when you get outa tradoc life gets a little easier

  4. Most likely they will just Admin Sep you with a Failure to Adapt Discharge - General , you may do a little brig time but they may just wash they're hands of you. You also could get an Other Than Honorable Discharge which is worse, this one has some negative employment effects but most civilian jobs won't even ask about military service but government and security clearance type of jobs will. You better off never doing this.

  5. You will be AWOL after the first 24 hours after 30 days you are considered a deserter.  In a time of war you can get the death penalty for that.

  6. Oh yes! Definitely!  They will charge you for desertion if you are UA (Navy/Marine term for AWOL) for more than 30-days.  That would be unbecoming of a Marine, they'll strip you of your title, losing your dignity.  I hope you don't plan on doing such!

  7. You will be charged with Absence Without Leave and if you have no valid reasons, you will be terminated from the service.

  8. Guess what if you didn't to be a Marine you should have never joined!  It isn't free flipping money for your college!  You join so you can fight for our country you twit!  You are a disgrace to our country.

  9. You can be sent to jail. By not being at your appointed place of duty at the prescribed time you are absent without leave. If you are away for more than 30 days you are considered a deserter. These are both federal offenses. Desertion carries a maximum punishment of five years imprisonment and dishonorable discharge. You need to think hard about the decisions you are making. The military is a tough job. I can tell you this as I am deployed overseas at the minute I write this. My advice to you is that if you aren't happy to be in the military, you should simply do your time and get out. Good Luck!

  10. "im not in the military yet..."

If you're asking question like this do yourself and all the troops who are doing their jobs a favor - don't enlist. I would never want someone with that attitude watching out for my boyfriend or any other troop.

  11. That's AWOL!!! Absent Without Leave! You will be kicked out and can be arrested and jailed when they find you! You'll also never be able to join again, it'll be on your permanent record.
