If i had the timing a little off in my car.....?

what kind of effects will it have on my engine (or any other part) or in its performance??

  1. Timing is very important for performance and longevity of your engine. However not knowing anything about your car (year,make,model,engine type) makes it very hard to give you solid advise. There are so many different types of engines this question is too vague. You can ruin your engine by running it out of proper timing, so if you don't know what your doing recruit the help of someone that does. Good Luck


  2. not sure of the effects but each cylinder your car has  there is 2 valves that come up like from the bottom of a triangle with no base the correct timing ensures that these valves do not crash onto each other wich can bend or damage your valves. if you need to do this yourself an easy way is to remove the timming belt take out the first sparkplug put a screwdriver in where the sparkplug was and manually wind the motor with you hand with the top cog of the timming belt untill the piston is all the way up then align your markers on the belt and the cog and you should be on your way
