  1. I don't see why not.  If you've got noting to lose, speak to your boss.  Tell them you'll voluntarily resign only if the drop the disciplinary action.  They may go for it, as even bosses don't like all the hassles involved in a disciplinary action.

    FYI-resigning will probably affect your unemployment benefits.  Why not call and ask before you resign?
