If i hava a equip card that that says destroy the equip card instead does that count for remove from play too

If i have a equip card that says the equiped monster cant be destroyed by battle and a monster battles with it with an effect thats says any monster that battles with it is removed from play does that count as a battle destruction?

  1. It doesn't count as battle destruction but as a spell-like ability.  The creature and equipment is removed from the game entirely.  If you have a card i.e. Skyship weatherlight, you can bring those two cards back in.  Otherwise, they are gone for the rest of the game.


  2. In Magic and YuGiOh "destroyed by battle" means destroyed as a result of battle/combat damage.

    In both games your monster would be removed from play, because the "remove from play" text on the other monster is an effect and not battle damage.

    In Magic the equip card would stay in play, in YuGiOh it would go to the graveyard.

  3. in yugioh, the card that is equipped by the equip spell (mist body) cannot be destroyed by battle, but CAN be destroyed by an effect. it doesnt make a difference if the effect sends it to the grave (newdoria) or if it removes from play (DD warrior lady) its by effect and therefore the equip spell cannot negate it.
