If i have 2 12 inch subs directed sx subs?

They are 400 watt rms should i run 800 watt amp. If you could also give me a name of a decent cheap amp.

get an amp that that provides 400rms for each subwoofer....

atleast give them each atleast 280 rms

atmost 440 rms

I would suggest running a little larger amp as the subs will always be underpowered. Check the max power for the subs and get an amp that has a max at a little under the max for the subs. I would suggest a minimum of 1000w amp, in which a Sony class d amp would be sufficient for a decent price. The better amp you get the better it will sound and the harder it will hit.
