  1. I had this operation 16 yrs ago 3 months after having my 5th baby who i took in with me because i was breast feeding within 1 hour of coming back on the ward i was pushing my son round the ward in his pushchair and i was allowed to go home later that day and that was then, so as long as everything goes well and you have your op earlier on in the day rather than later, they should let you go home.x

  2. when i had mine done i was put to sleep.(my doctor gave me what is commonly referred to as truth serum... when i started to wake up in recovery i started yelling fire, fire.) i was feeling like i was on fire. they had to tell people waiting for patients having surgery that everything was fine that it was a patient waking up. now they give meds that put you right to sleep without you even being aware of it. ( i had my overies removed Tuesday. i was talking to a nurse then i found myself waking up in recovery) i was in the hospital just overnight when i had my tubes tied. there wasn't much pain. what little i had i was given an RX for it. the pain lasted about a week.

  3. I was sterilised about 13 years ago.

This operation is done by laparoscopy. You go into hospital in the morning. You will have a general anaesthetic, the operation takes 20-30 mins, you will wake up in recovery ward, when they are sure you are ok you will go up to a day ward. You will be encouraged to have a sandwich/toast, have a wee & walk about a bit, as long as all is ok you will be allowed to go home about 1-2pm.

You must then take it easy for a couple of days & should be back to normal activities in a week or two.

    Good luck ;);)
