If i have Open Office and i send file to a friend who has Microsoft Office, can he see it?

I know Open Office can open Microsoft Office files, but Microsoft Office can open Open Office files?

If you save it as a Microsoft Office capable format. Save As... and change the file type to one of the following: .txt, .doc, .rtf and he'll be able to see it, unless he has plugins.

My guess would be a yes.

Because my friend sent me a file using Open Office and I was able to open it using Microsoft Office.

If the file format doesn't match, try right-click and click on "Open With".
