  1. To techno.......you are a moron, you can have all versions of windows ever made in one computer if you want.Don't give answers if you are clueless about computers man.

About the question, yes you have to format and install XP first since Vista boot loader ignores the XP entry

  2. You can not install any Windows if you have one Windows operating system.

You can install Windows XP if you uninstall that Windows Vista.

If you have a Windows Operating system , you can install another operating system suach as Ubuntu Linux , Mac or Solaris but not Windows

You can not have two WIndows in one computer , so if you want to install XP , uninstall Vista first .

    XP the best !!!!!!

  3. If you want XP, backup all your current data to an external source.  Reboot with the XP disk in your CD drive, boot to CD and then run the installer.

If the XP installer cannot find any hard drives, then you need to change your BIOS settings.  BIOS settings vary by manufacturer, but what your looking for is a setting called something like "SATA Native Mode' or something like that.  Make sure its set for IDE compatible or legacy.

And of course, its always best to consult your manufacturer's websites and guides before doing any of this.  Unless its an HP and brand new.  They'll just tell you its unsupported (which is all Lies of course).

  4. listen carefully this is so easy

i cant understand why no one else knows this

you'll have to uninstall Vista first

Install XP (only seems to work 2 ways i think) on a hard drive. if you have 2 hard drives that helps.

On the second hard drive install Vista (do not have anything XP on that hard drive yet or you'll have trouble using it when using XP)

When your computer boots up you'll get a screen that lets you choose which operating system you want to use.

Second Option (not guaranteed): If you only have one hard drive you can try this but its up to you.

Uninstall Vista (no choice): Install XP. When installing it create two particians. you need to decide how much room per operating system you'll need.

Install XP in one partician and Vista in the other.

  5. You can't because XP is a legacy OS and Vista doesn't let you install it because it makes no sense to install something older and outdated. If you want them both you have to format ,install XP and after that Vista. Is it worth the trouble?
