  1. First where can any one find a 13w light bulb?

That light will be only as bright as a night light.  You'll need so many that you'll use more energy than if you just kept the 100w bulb in first place.

    Use 75w or 60w bulbs.

  2. If you are thinking of compact flourescent bulbs, it is easy to tell by checking on the packaging; the equivelent ratings are listed prominently.

Check for deals - places like Home Depot, and Lowes, as well as Menards, typically offer 4 and 6 pack packages of bulbs that are considerably cheaper than buying them individually.

  3. while your getting your cfl bulbs which i got all of my money back  in as little as 2 months in savings on my electric. look at the low water flow heads for showers & sinks, they are high pressure heads that use alot less water but it feels just the same. also sold my suv & bought a prius nafter payment & filling with gas for a month i still have an extra $150.00 left over. my son & i drove the prius from ohio to panama city fla for a week & back & only spend 120.00 0n gas at $3.00 per gallon.

  4. 100 watt incandescent light  bulb would be a 26 watt CFL. Yea do change them from the incandescent light because it uses less energy. I spend $120 dollars on CFL Light bulbs from walmart last month. I changed out all the incandescent light bulbs in my house to the CFL. Even though you are spending a lot, you will paying saving over a period of time. CFL uses 75% less energy.

Make sure the light bulb package have the energy star on it. I have the GE brand CFL bulbs and it is even brighter than the old incandescent light

  5. Sure.

Now if you're comparing an incandescent (gets real hot when it's running) light bulb to a CFL, multiply the CFL's watts by 4 to get a decent comparison. So a 13 watt CFL is like a 52 watt incandescent.   It would be less bright than a 100 watt incandescent.   I like light, so I'd go for a brighter CFL as long as it fits in the fixture.  They also make fixtures made for fluorescents.

  6. You will find that a 100W light bulb will correspond to a 20W energy efficient light bulb, thus saving 80% of the energy.
