If i have a 1100w amp, can i use a 1200w wireing kir or a 1000w wireing kit??

  1. The engine power is not what powers the amps. The bugatti comment is strange. I would  just get the bigger one. The actual current for a 1100W amp is not the same depending on what the real current rating is. Manufacturers can state power different ways. The same rated amp from 3 different companies can have very different power requirements. Also depends on the type of amp it is too.


  2. Close enough is good enough  

    use this guide as a rule:

    100-400 rms = 8 guage wire kit

    500-1200 rms = 4 guage wire kit

    1300-1500 rms = 0 guage wire kit

    over 1500 rms = 0 guage kit and spare battery near amp

    Also Buying a cap is like buying the extended warranty on your universal tv remote. one more way for the Man to get Your Money.

  3. You can always use heavier gauge wire than specified. If you are are going to play a 1.1KW RMS amp from your car, you will need a big engine, a 100bhp engine is ABOUT 75W. You are going the need a Bugatti Veyron to power your amp. And that's without driving it.
