  1. A benign tumor is not disqualifying unless it interferes with the wearing of military equipment, will require intensive treatment or has a high potential for malignancy like Dysplastic Nevus Syndrome. A history of a malignant tumor is, with the exception of basal cell cancer which has been removed. The source below is the medical standard.

  2. A single benign lump should not disqualify you.  You should have documentation from your civilian doctor, if you shows up on the military screening physical.

  3. This is a question for a recruiter, but you may want to think about this really hard.

First, they may not take you at all. Having a benign lump CAN turn malignant, thus costing the military money as they treat you for cancer.

Secondly, if they do take you and it DOES develop into full-blown cancer, they may just kick you out and not help you at all, saying it's a pre-existing condition so it's your problem.

Because of some of the substances you'll be exposed to, it could exacerbate the situation and cause it to develop into full-blown malignant cancer. Why would you want to take that risk?
