It depends on the boat and the propeller setup. If you have a lightweight boat, such as a small aluminum fishing boat, then 25hp will work as long as you can get enough speed. I don&#039;t know about using it for the tubing but it will probably be fine for the other. I&#039;ve seen people wakeboarding behind a pontoon boat with a 30hp. Best thing to do is just try it.

In most cases, no.  It will pull a tube with a small person in it, but not fast enough to be fun.

I would say probably not.  You need atleast a 75hp to get going fast enough to pull people.  Pulling a tube creates a lot of drag.

Using a 25 HP to pull a wakeboarder or skiier, that&#039;s too funny..

A 25 HP boat motor will never be enough to properly pull a tube fast enough, nor a skier, or wakeboarder.  This is a pipe dream and will never happen.  Don&#039;t think about it, don&#039;t try it.

You need a minmum 50 HP boat motor to adaquately pull a tube around on the lake.  Given as the person on the tube can go from 60 lbs to 300lbs.

For skiing and wakeboarding, I do not recommend any boat with less than 80HP.  It takes a lot of horsepower to get them pulled out of the hole fast enough.  You might be able to do it with a jetski with 70 HP or higher that is a 3 seater.

Any boater or PWC driver with any measurable towing experience can answer this VERY quickly.

My son has an aluminum fishing boat with a 25hp evinrude and it will pull a 200 pound person with 2 adults and a child in the boat. It pulls just fine with a store bought riding tube.
