  1. You are the great niece or nephew =) Lucky you!

  2. great niece or nephew.

  3. You are her great nephew.

  4. You would be the great-niece/nephew. Your Mom or Dad would be the great-aunt's niece or nephew.

I have several on my Mom's side of the family because her mother (my grandmother) came from a family of 12 children. Then, my Mom had several great-aunts and uncles as well because each of  her grandparents (my great-grandparents) came from families of 12 children. Needless to say, at family reunions, we had MANY 5-generation family groups and had to wear name tags so we knew who belonged to what family.  :)

  5. When your sibling's children have children

  6. Ted's correct. The term is "grand niece" or "grand nephew". The thinking behind it is that "greatness" is earned by age and wisdom. So "great aunt" or "great uncle" comes as an honorarium. You're too young to be "great" with them. It may be goofy in today's thinking, but that's the way the terms developed. Children are not greater than their elders.

  7. A great niece or great nephew.

  8. g niece or g nephew

  9. Grand niece or grand nephew. You can use "great niece" or "great nephew" too. I always use "grand" because most people know what a grandson / granddaughter is. As soon as you say "great", even though you don't say "great grand", they start thinking you are talking about great grandfather's siblings.
