  1. I agree that Tai Chi is probably the best art for you. Tai Chi has many health benefits. Studies show Tai Chi reduces pain, stress and anxiety in healthy subjects. Other studies have indicated improved cardiovascular and respiratory function in healthy subjects as well as those who had undergone coronary artery bypass surgery. People who suffer from various heart diseases have been treated successfully with Tai Chi.

  2. I would suggest Japanese Jujitsu, the key focus is inflicting pain on the aggressor until he submits or breaks/dislocates something.

If you use a walking stick (like me,) go for La Canne, Jo, or some other form of stick fighting

  3. Tai Chi

  4. combat Tai Chi

  5. Why dont you still carry on with karate but just take it easy. Dont train so hard, cut the sparring, keep your kicks low etc. Concentrate more on kata, stretching and breaking a light sweat when training

  6. tai chi sir. its fluid and relaxing

  7. Bagua Zhang  or Hsing Yi or Tai Chi.

Find a Chinese internal art. I must warn you though, these arts are WAY different than the Shotokan that you are used to. Like any art they take a lot of practice. Make sure that you consult your Dr. before getting involved and also be sure to check out the class before you enroll. Hsing I can be fairly rigorous.

    Good Luck
