  1. your time in long course is going to be slower than the one in short course. Work on your starts and teqnique

  2. Train up your arm power with elastic bands, daily for 30-45 mins, twice a day. Get a coach or an experienced free-stylist to comment on your arm-strokes,  kicks and head turns--are they smooth, rhythmic and accurate enough? There are at least 15 areas to focus on.

You should slash your time considerably if you adopt the above approach, with gusto! BTW dont go overboard and over-train. Take adequate rest, sleep and follow a healthy diet and routine. If you are still in your early teens, you have a great potential for the Olympics. Smile, put your nose to the grindstone and  Best of luck!  :-))

  3. STARTS & TURNS!

  4. if your time is a 29.81 in short course you will go probably like a 33 or so long course.

i go a 25.84 in the 50 short course and 28.67 long course. im 15.

you will definatly go a slower time long course than short course.

that much of a time drop in a 50 cant be done overnight, you have to work all season to do that.

    GOOD LUCK!

  5. Two seconds in a 50 fr is a lot of time to cut.  Longcourse time will be slower than shortcourse because there is no turn.  If you have bad turns, than your longcourse time will be proportionally better than the short course time since there will be no turn.  Longcourse is a 50meter pool.  Your shortcourse time could be yards or meters.  In typically takes 1-2 years to drop that amount of time.  Do some spin drills, really work your kick, and don't breathe much.

  6. Well, I have a friend who is number one in the state in the medley race and he said his times were about 2 seconds shorter after he shaved his legs, his back, and his arms. He may just have had a good day, but it is worth a try.

  7. your time in long course is going to be slower since it's a way longer pool with no flip turn so I suggest that you just go to practice and take your time (but dont' go to the end of the line if your in the front) and rest up for the meet this weekend.  That will help you a lot!

    GOOD LUCK IN THE MEET!!

  8. dropping 2 seconds when you go from short course to long course is ALOT. I swim a 28.2 50 long course and my short course time is a 24.5
