Good lord, if you don't know how many quarts in a gallon and can't figure this out from the information given, there is not much hope left.

If you knew how many ounces in a quart you could multiply that by how many quarts in a gallon, and then divide that by 33.8. But if you don't know any of this stuff then you should just give up because you need better goals than drinking a gallon a day if you can't figure anything out.

1 LT = 33.8oz x 4 = 135.2oz (1 Gallon + 7.2 oz)

1 QT =32oz x 4 = 128 oz (1 Gallon)

There are four quarts in a gallon, and this is a little more than a quart.  So you'd need to drink a bit less than four of them.

A whole gallon is 3.78 Liters, so half a gallon is almost 2 of those bottles of water a day.  But two of those bottles is only about 64 oz a day.  The best way to maintain your water intake is to drink half your body weight in oz of water a day to maintain your bodily functions.  For example, I weigh 167 so I drink around 85-200 oz a day.

Sadly in the US, the gallon is less than elsewhere. Here the calculations are from Imperial (British, UK pints)

1 UK pint = 568 ml

1 US pint = 473 ml

1 litre (1,000 ml) is approximately 1.75 pints

16 oz / fl. oz per pint

2 pints to the quart

8 pints to the gallon

therefore you should aim for around (8 / 1.75) 4.5 litres
