If i have an agent selling my home, and I sell through other sources, does the agent still get paid ?

It depends on the type of agreement you set up when you first list your house with the agency.  Agents don't want to waste their time marketing your house only to have you find your own buyer.  Its not fair to the agent and his/her broker.  How would you feel?  Its like working and not getting paid for your work.  Agents also spend their money to market your property.  A lot of brokers won't let their agents do those type of listings anyway.
