If you are really interested in studying in Germany (and I think you are in the UK if you are taking your GCSE's) I would suggest using this website:

I got the site off the German Embassy in London website www.london.diplo.de

If you are a UK citizen I don't think you need a visa to live in Germany. But if you are really worried about it you should contact the German embassy. You can use the website to get their email and telephone number.

I am not sure if you are asking about the cost of the visa or the cost of going to school there.  Tuition is nearly free, but you have to prove that you can support yourself (without work).  So, if you add up the cost of food, housing, transportation, phone, books, etc.  you will have your cost.  If you have to pay for a visa the amount would be negligible.
