  1. It depends!  There's a difference between feeling a little off and shaky and a medically-induced low blood sugar that a diabetic would have.  From your question, it sounds like you are not a diabetic.  If you're not a diabetic, you don't have to do anything, but eating something with carbohydrates isn't harmful, so go ahead.

Everyone gets low blood sugars sometimes, even non diabetics.   The difference is that a non-diabetic can rest a few minutes and they will feel their "second wind" kick in.  That's their endocrine system being able to release a proper amount of stored glucose to normalize their blood sugars.  A diabetic either can't do that, or their bodies do it badly.  In the case of a diabetic on insulin, it's just not going to happen without help.  They definitely need to treat a low blood sugar.

Treating a low blood sugar:  ingest 15 grams of fast carbohydrates such as orange juice, sugary soda, or glucose tablets.  Then have a snack of 15-25 carbs plus 7 or more grams of protein, such as a 1/2 turkey sandwich.  This fast sugar gets your blood sugar up and the slower carbohydrates will keep them up there longer to stabilize.  You sometimes have to take two doses of fast sugar but you should keep testing your blood sugars every 15 or 20 minutes because if you're feeling crappy it takes that long for the sugars to start working, and you don't want to overdo it on the fast sugar and go too high.

  2. Yes you can and its called hypoglycemia . Eat something with sugar in it and then get some carbs in you.

  3. yes, your blood sugar can be low and you not be diabetic.

that has nothing to do with the way your body makes

insulin, which makes people be diabetic. but if you

want to get your sugar back up quick, some people

say juice or a cookie. but eat a piece of bread or

a couple spoons full of peanut butter. that will make

your sugar go back up fast.

  4. usally low sugar is a pre diabetic so you want to stay away from sweets as much as possible, eat food to keep your sugar from dropping but if it drops to fast then yes eat a little something sweet til you can get you something to eat,or drink juice or cola.

  5. This is what people think they are supposed to do.  If that is all you have is something sweet, then yes.

Mostly just eat.  Anyone's blood sugar can drop if they don't eat regular meals.

Ginger ale is good, it has less sugar.  Tip about sugar, yes it takes care of the shakyness, but if sugar is all you eat then when it wears off you bottom out which is where you came from.  So to prevent hitting the bottom again, eat something with some fat like peanut butter to graham crackers.

Eat regular meals and this won't happen.  Snack on fresh fruit, such as apples, apricots, peaches, mangoes, oranges, grapes.

  6. If you detect a low glucose level ( under 60 ) is best to bring it up to normal levels. A glass of juice is usually enough. A person can have hypoglycemia ( low sugar) without being a diabetic. If someone has hypoglycemia, the cause needs investigation. Low glucose levels are not good for the brain.

  7. i guess whenever someone hasn't eaten in a while or hasn't had any sugar than their blood sugar goes low. You start to get like kinda dizzy. I get this a lot because of a health problem so randomly i'll just be like my blood sugars low. I need food. But yeah anyone can have low blood sugar
