  1. no, depending on the version of windows, it uses either a FAT32 or NTFS file system.. macs use HFS which isn't compatible...  similarly, a windows 98 machine can't use files from a windows xp machine (assuming the xp machine uses the xp default NTFS file system)

  3. If you mean you have a dual boot system and you want to share files, then no.  Different files systems.

  4. Well, songs (like mp3 format) work on both. Programs use differents formats. Windows .exe mac i cant think of, off tehe top of my head. If yountry and download windiws programs fior mac, u get a load of writing...

  5. No. When you create a dual-OS in the same computer, you have to divide the disk space of your hard drive into two sections (called partitions), with each OS installation (Windows, Mac) residing in its own partition. All Windows files goes to the Windows partition and all Mac files goes to the Mac partition.

However, it is possible for one OS to access files of another OS. You can do this by installing a software that turns your computer into what is called a "Virtual Machine". VMware is an example of such software.

  6. On Parallels Desktop running XP, you can access the Windows files from the Mac side IF you are running XP simultaneously, and XP can access the Mac files (via drive Y:).  If you aren't running XP simultaneously, the files are locked away and cannot be accessed from the Mac side.

I think Fusion VMware works similarly, but I don't know for certain.  I can't tell you about Boot Camp, I've never used it.

  7. yes yes you can i have done it
