If i help my friend to buy a house in the US by co-signing, does that affect my financial aid in canada?

im moving to canada in a few month. im a

US citizen. my friend asked me the favor to see if i can co-sign for him on a house here in the US but i dont want that to affect my financial aid when i move to canada. does any body know if this has any affect?

First off, I wouldn't co-sign anything for a friend.  You do realize that you would be liable to pay the debt if your friend does not?  And it probably would affect your financial aid since its an asset
