If i hook up a blue ray dvd player to a projector, will the projector display blue ray?

  1. Yes and no.

    It will work but you need the projector to hve a few qualities in order for it to display in High Definition. Bluray is 1080p, but 720p/1080i is also considered high def. So the projector needs to be 1080p to truely view bluray in it's native resolution but a 720p/1080i projector will still look nice and sharp.

    You will also need to connect to the projector with HDMI if you want to view 1080p. You can view 720p/1080i using component cables but not 1080p.

    Even if the projector doesn't do 1080p or 720p you can still watch a bluray movie as most projectors or Bluray players will down-convert to lower resolutions.


  2. As long as the projector has component, DVI or HDMI hook ups and is 720p, 1080i or 1080p then yes it will play Bluray.
