  1. Graduate from high school. Get your parents to sign your enlistment papers and your clear.

Or, you could enlist in DEP while 17 if your parents sign off on it. You will then get shipped to boot after you graduate.

  2. The national guard is the only branch that will allow you to enlist as a junior in HS. You will attend basic training your junior year summer, return to school your senior year and then continue training after that. You will be a drilling member of the unit while you are a senior in HS.

  3. Try JROTC, as this will get your foot in the door and it applies to extra credits/rank when enlisting. I would suggest going to community college first as this would bump you up a couple notches on pay when entering basic. If you would like to try for a four year, say in engineering or IT then you could try for the Air Force Academy, or Naval Academy but they only take about the top 10% of the class. When I was in, the AFA required your congressmans endorsement for acceptance. I went in right after high school as enlisted, and now that I look back on it I should have went the college route first. Don't rush it. If you want, talk with the AF recruiter and they may be able to give you a personal tour of the AF Academy, as they do accept visitors but you may have to foot the bill getting to colorado. The Academy is absolutely awesome as it backs up against the rockies.

  4. Graduate from H.S. ... the military will take care of everything else.

  5. I ALMOST joined the Army Reserve as a Junior in high school, myself.  At that time, the option was to attend boot camp the summer between my Junior and Senior years, serve my weekends each month, and then attend my tech school after my graduation.  I don't know if the policy has changed?  Check with your recruiter.  Before you enlist, make sure this is what you really wish to do.  If I may offer a little advice?  The politicians are very war hungry these days.  I don't mind serving my country, but that is seldom the situation.  The war on terror is a sham and 9/11 certainly didn't happen the way that the "official" story reflects.  You should read War is a Racket by Major General Smedley Butler before you make any decisions, my young friend.  The world doesn't work the way that they tell you it does in your school books.  Good luck with your decision.

  6. its spelled enlist on inlist, you can join just get your parents permission

  7. Finish High School.  The Guard should send you to Boot Camp and Tech training after graduation.....
