If i install vmfusion on a mac and give it 1GB of ram to use for windows xp does that mean i lost 1GB of ram?

if i install vmfusion on a mac and give it 1GB of ram to use for windows xp do i lose 1GB of ram or do I only lose it when i run vmfusion and also does my mac get slower from having vmfusion/ and or giving it ram? Thanks.

  1. I believe that means it will use, at max, 1GB of RAM during use.


  2. it means  you are giving up  1 gig of  ram for windows to use  

    vmfusion wil take the allocated ram and give it to windows so windows has 1 gig  

    so basically yes  you lose 1 gig of ram
