  1. Probably not, they pay by rank and sometimes rate if you need to go sub duty etc. But I don't think being a linguist and knowing those languages pays extra but it will definitely help during the DLAB and seeing you know Arabic what more can you want. Unless you get deployed and are asked to assist in translation overseas, etc. Special duty always pays extra. So, technically yes and no. Do it! http://www.mynavyonline.com for more help.

  2. you get language pay if your a translator or do some intelligence related work.

also it would set you up for a really good career at the CIA or FBI if you chose to go afterward, where you WOULD get extra pay.

  3. I speak 9 different languages, including Arabic and Kurdish and did receive "extra" pay as a translator while deployed to Iraq.

You will recieve "extra" pay if you are utilizing your skill as a translator or linguist. But you won't recieve extra if you have an MOS in which you'll never utilize these languages.

On the other hand, because I speak 9 different languages (you 6) your bonus for reenlistment/comission will be pretty d**n nice. Way more then they'd offer to a lot of the other servicemembers.

  4. Each service can pay u linguist pay as long as you're serving in that capacity.  Just knowing another language isn't grounds for extra pay though.
