  1. no. your acceleration due to gravity is the same. if you start below the rain you will end on the ground before the rain.

  2. It is not correct to say that u will not be wet. It is only possible when the rate of time of the rain drops equal yr jump time which is nearly impossible

  3. i guess so

    due to air resistance

but if you did it on the moon u wouldnt

  4. no, because rain droplets drop down at the same speed as you do, and clouds are usually higher than buildings. of course you would get wet after u hit the ground though

  5. Well the terminal velocity of humans and rain probably isn't good enough, because if the rain is on top of you, your air resistance should block the air resistance on the rain above you, making its terminal velocity faster than normal.

In an ideal physics situation you don't get wet, and it is like an imaginary anti-gravity situation.  Falling elevators, falling planes, etc. make you "float".  So the rain would just stay at the same height from your perspective.  With air resistance, you go slower, the rain goes slower, and you affect the rain above, but I don't know if the rain would go faster than you overall or not.

EDIT: I think you will get wet.  The rain's terminal velocity could be faster than ours in the first place; otherwise, it could still hit us since we're blocking it's air.

  6. No.  All objects accelerate to earth at the same rate 9.8m/s/s.  Thus if neglecting air resistance, the rain wouldn't fall "faster" and catch you on the fall during their decent.  Thus you would only get wet if you stopped moving while the rain drops catch up.

  7. No because you would be accelearting at a faster rate then the rain, due to your greater mass, and so you would hit the ground, and a couple of milliseconds later, you would get wet.
