  1. ... so what IF ? ...an if-y kind of life......sheesh ! you have to find it silly girl, because nobody can be you...dang ! , simple, you get off your lard, GO to Mexico, Spain, or Israel and find out what kind of life only YOU can have....you have been watching too many television "reality" shows....where is your imagination?

  2. Depend on where u want to live in mexico, The same than in the USA, it is very different to live in southern california than in the mid west.  As a rules of tumbs in Mexico the bigger the city the higher the housing price.  Also is more expensive to live in the Norther part of Mexico than in the south.  If u want to live closed to the beach avoid the tourism ones,  with 3,000 dollars u can live pretty well almost in almost any city in Mexico, except for the real big cities like Monterrey, Mexico City or Guadalajara.

  3. Well the answer to that might  be at how marketing research companies divided by Socio- Economical studies the demographics of the city you want to know within a country,

You may wanto to see INEGI in the web for Mexico.

But since not everybody speaks Spanish here are some details:

Mexico income graphics are divided into this groups:

A, -B .- People who earn monthly more than 10,000 Dollars a month, this are the Rich Mexicans, They live in The most expensive parts of the cities( houses from 500,000 usd to 2,000,000 usd or more) have at least two houses and a property of some sort in a Mexican beach resort, have at least two cars of luxury brands of recent models, nomore than two years old ( Mercedes, Bmw, Porsche, SUV´S) they travel constantly by plane to rest of the world, the y have at least two maids, they buy most of their clothes abroad in expensive stores out side Mexico, some small amount in reknown shops in Mexico. The kids go to private schools and they spend at least part of their education in some well known school on a foreign country, ( U.S. or Europe), they are members of Golf clubs, industrial clubs and some others; they also have at least one bank account out side Mexico..- Big industry owners, Big known Actors, singers, Highest Goverment Officials, top executives in mexican or foreing corporations etc. Less than 1 % of the population lives like that.

THE C+ this is the High- midle class.-  the earnings are between 4,000 usd a month to 9999 usd a month they have at least one house that depending on the city willrange between $ 150,000 usd to 400,000USD, People on this range of income have 1 maid, have at least two cars one of recent model of no more than two years or a no so old luxury car ( 3 to 5 years) the other car will be a smaller car in price also of recent model, they love house applainces, so you will find all kind of gadgets in their homes, including kitchen, tv s,stereos, I.pods etc, high speed internet and computers. They travel out side of the country once or twice a year and several times the travel within the country, at least once by plane the rest by car, kids go to private schools which some time strugle to pay, also social life is very important to them so they also make big efforts to pay a membership in a club of rich people and they try to go to fancy restaurants or bar whenever they have the chance, but not always. they buy most of their clothes in mexico and some in the U.S. Very seldom they go beyond, like Europe. this is where you will find a lot of people that finihsed college even a lot of people with   Master degree. 3%- 5% of the Mexicans live in this range.

C range.- Middle class.- Well this is where you will lived if you were living in Mexico with 30,000 usd a year. the income for this will be between 1200 usd a month all the way 3900 usd a month, Your house will range from 45,000 usd to 200,000usd, families with this income will have a car, a lot of the times with some years of use or a small compact car of recent model, They also can afford a maid but only few days of the week, Kids will go to a cheaper private school but more often to Public Schools, Your vacation will be within the country and almost never you  will travel by plane, Some will go to the US, that if they can get a US VISA, and if they save a lot of money eventualy one or two members of the family once in their life will go to Europe..( this is a big event for mexicans) .They will go to restaurants and bars but not the fancy expensive ones, more like fast food or diners, but not always. the education in this level  is at least high school degree, and lot of small commerce, goverment officers, fultime teachers, some profesionals in the early stages of their careers,  Qualify technitians etc.

D+ ( 600 usd to 1000 usd a month) this is where most of mexico lives. is called poor high mostly people that did´t finish their education.  thei housing will range from  40,000 usd to 15,000 usd again depending on the city..  they will have most of the modern life comfort in their houses, like a tv, a small price stereo, hot water, gas,  electricity. an old computer,  mobile telephone, and some times a fix telephone, internet will be able only by modem but most often they will go to internet cafes for that matter. Sometimes they will have a car but an old one. diners an fast food restaurants, or movies will be attended almost never. and going to public parks will be a common spare time. If they travel they travel by bus and to closeby touristic places..taxi drivers waiters in good restaurants, clerks, drivers, long experience construction workers, plumbers, carpenters,

D section.-   This is the 3 world type of living that you often hear about, The range goes from 300 usd to 500 usd a month) they are not capable of paying a roof for their selfs, so often several generations of families live together under one roof an pay for the rent or they live with relatives that have a house. when they have the oportunity they get a piece of land out side of the citie, with no pavement, no souring system, no telephone lines, only electricity.. and they star building the house brick by brick. oftenly they star living inside with the house still in rough materials, no solid roof,  unfinished bed room, no doors,  the finishing of this housing will last for a long time.

They some times lack of services like running water, they try to save beef in their diet very often and other basical necesities are not always furfil. The education in this sector is too low people that didn´t finish elementary studies. Janitors, informal commerce, the lowest paid in formal employments.

E.- this is the worst, is the hunger type of living and exists in

mexico 13%  of its Pop. Actually, this people survive with less than 150 usd a month mostly in rural mexico, a lot of native americans who do not speak spanish, half of them only knows to read and write, no education, they live in shacks made by debree of other material, or cardboard, even caves are good, they don´t have access to health, education, and other things, however now more and more have access to electricity, and is common to find a radio and a tv which represents most of their enterteinment. Beef in thei diets almost don´t exist.

  4. Well, if you lived in Mexico and made $30,000 a year..you would be one of the very rich.  Wages in Mexico are VERY low...doctors here do not make $30,000 a year.  You need to realize that salaries in the U.S. are WAAAAY higher thn in most other countries.

  5. It depends entirely on where you want to live and what your priorities are. But I would say that almost anywhere in Mexico, you could be very comfortable on $30K.

For example, San Miguel de Allende, where I live, is  one of the most expensive towns in Mexico. But I know people here who live on considerably less than that. It may be difficult to buy a house--most run $190K and up, up, UP, though you can sometimes find a nice condo for under $100K. But rents are not at all in line with real estate prices. You can still rent a perfectly comfortable apartment for about $500, a house for under $1000. If you don't eat every meal out, but shop in the mercado and cook, your food budget will be substantially less than in the States. electricity is more than the US, LP gas, less, high speed internet about the same or a little less. It's affordable to have a maid, especially part-time. And San Miguel has many, many activities going on that are free or very cheap.

If you want to know more check out the website below. You might also want to look at www.fallinginlovewithsanmiguel dot com. It chronicles the life of two American women who moved to San Miguel and live there on Social Security only.

  6. You could live well in Mexico. big cities have all the amenities you would be looking for. Beach properties run about a half million for a spiffy condo. It depends in great measure what kind of life you're looking for. Retirees in Mexico and Spain live on much less.

  7. Well, I guess you mean $30'000 american dollars per year.

That is about $324'000 mexican pesos per year, $27'000 pesos per month.

That is good enough to have a very nice life here, it gives you chance to live in a good house, in a modern city, with all the comfort that you could find in USA. You could even have mobile connection to internet (celular broad band) and answers questions like this. You could save enough to start a bussines and later earn more. You won't be one of the richest, but you won't need to go to USA to work, but you could go there on vacations. Of course you could have vacations once a year inside México.

  8. Well I am sure you are asking how well would you live if you made $30K a year in Mexico. That salary does not happen there. They really only place to make that much a year is in the U.S.A. Mexico is not a place to go to work. It is a place to visit if you have money or retire if you have money in the bank. $1000-$1500 a month would live very well there.
