If i lost my phone, what's the whole process of getting a new SIM card?

I lost my phone and the phone itself is not an issue, but my major concern was the SIM card. Do i have to call in and cancel the service, or could they just transfer it to another SIM card? And will i have to pay for a new SIM card?

  1. wow i lost my old fone too!! more like GOT STOLEN...but thats not the point...you have to call and get it canceled or the person who finds your fone can run up your bill....then you just go to an at&t store and ask for a new one. i got mine free :)

  2. Call AT&T's customer support and ask them to block the SIM, so you don't have to pay for calls made by whoever finds it. At the same time ask them to send you a new SIM (free) and ask them what chance you have for a good deal for a new phone.

  3. Cancel the sevice now before someone racks you a big bill.Call AT&T now.Tell them you lost your phone. And they will tell you need to do.

  4. just go into a store and ask for another one... when i had cingular i had to pay $25 for a new one cause i locked my old one.  you will lose all the contacts though.

if all else fails buy a prepay phone for like $10 (which has one in it) and call in and tell'em you want to do a "sim swap"
