you can never reinstall/uninstall it, it needs that, and you can't make up your own, since each disk has one code hardwired into it, that can't be accessed, since you don't need internet to install it, you can't make your own.

I've never played Diablo so I don't know how that game works.

With Guild Wars, you use the keycode to create an account. That account is then tied to your e-mail address (your account name). As long as you know your username and password you can play as much as you like.  You can uninstall and reinstall the game just fine. All you need is the username and password to pick up where you left off.

Now, that keycode becomes important if you forget your password or if your account is stolen by a scammer or hacker.  You will need the key to prove ownership of the account to support.

If you registered the game with the publisher/manufacturer then you can contact them and ask for it.
