  1. on average:

frozen vegies will last for months and months in the freezer.

beef and lamb will last for 6 months

chicken pork and fish will last for 4 months

    dairy will last for 3months

if you freeze the bought stuff i really don't know how long it would last for, but i wouldn't recommend guessing just in case you get it wrong :)

  2. Baby food jars are not sutible for freezing they have a very long shelf life anyway.

If you make food yourself it depends on what you are making. If i make chicken or meat for my baby i usually just use it within four weeks.

Lots of diffrent articles and people have there own oppinions so just to be safe i would just leave it 4 weeks. Fruit and veg alone will last about 8 weeks. But remember when you have defrosted the food never freeze it again.

  3. First off, I'd like to say that I think it's great you're making your own food. Not only is it fun, but it's much much cheaper and you know exactly what's going in there. Generally food will store in the freezer for up to two months, depending on what it is and how it was stored. For example, if you're doing veggies- Steam veggies, puree in blender( adding water or formula), freeze in ice cube trays and then put in freezer bag( make sure you write the date on there). I wouldn't freeze the food that you buy. It's kind of silly to freeze a few spoonfuls like that. And if your child is having a hard time finishing 1 jar in 24-48 hours, then you might want to back off on solids until she's a bit older.

  4. You do not need to freeze the jar baby food, they have very long expirery dates on them.

Home made baby food is good in the freezer for 3 months.

  5. You can freeze food you have made for up to 2 months. I havnt heard of anyone freezing jar baby food!! I would have thought the jars had a long enough expiry date on them that you would not have to freeze them.
