so basically, i turned in my fafsa way before the CA march 2 deadline. Like, most people i didnt file my taxes til the begining of April. The fafsa confirmation email stated that once i had filed my taxes i should correct my processed fafsa, so i did. Now, im just freaking out about what date the state will consider...the date i submitted my fafsa or the date i corrected it? should i have jsut left it the way it was? does it even matter? I'm just worried that this little thing might make me lose my calgrant.

  1. You did the right thing.  You must ALWAYS correct your fafsa if you file it using estimated information and before filing your taxes.  If you chose not to correct it, you wouldn't get a dime.  The school wont award anything on estimated information.  You are fine.

  2. go to ur Financial Aid office in your college, and find out if u could correct ur mistakes.....i kinda made the same mistake like couple of weeks ago and got it corrected at the Financial Aid office.

  3. Don't worry.  The fafsa deadlines are kind of a formality.  You will still be eligible for the same amount of aid it just might be delayed a little.
