  1. If you know the City in which he died, you can check the obituaries in the local newspaper.  Just check the past issues around the time of his death.  That information is usually printed in the obits.


  2. It depends a lot on when it was and which country he died in.  If it's in the US, try the Social Security Death Index:

    You could try to search for burials here:

    If you have no luck with those, try this site which has lots of links for death records, cemeteries and obituaries:
