  1. cats are not that stupid. they know not to jump off a 10 floor building...  i have a cat who is constantly on my balcony and i'm on the third floor - she has never once tried to jump off...  she looks over the edge and thats it.  Your cat should be fine if you open your balcony or window :)  if you are that worried about it still, why don't you just leave the screen on the window???

  2. They may.  I had a cat that jumped from a 3rd story window once because they saw a  bird fly by and tried to catch it... The cat survived but he had the wind knocked out of him... if the bush hadn't been there he would probably have been killed.

  3. I really hope this is a joke question. Keep the animals or anything else alive from an open window. A person can die from a 1st floor fall it they land incorrectly.

  4. she wont jump but could fall. If she is a kitten she could become distracted if she is elderly she might not be able to see but a normal mature cat would not jump.

  5. Don't worry ... if your cat jumps and dies, I'm certain there are many yummy recipes for dead cat.  With hope, the cat lovers won't be too offended.

THREE thumbs down ALREADY!  C'MON FOLKS ... it was a JOKE!

  6. umm, i would think she could die from it...why chance it?

  7. It definitely could jump or fall. From the 10th floor it would die.

A lot of cats will chase after stuff like bugs or birds without realizing that there is a big drop to the ground and will fall out the window.

Also they can jump hard enough to knock a screen out of a window so be careful and lock the kitty up in a another room or something if you are going to open up the window/door right now. Maybe get an extra screen like those wooden ones they have at hardware stores, or some sort of reinforcement or a screen door?

  8. Yes it definitely can!!

You must have your windows screened with mosquito nets as well as the balcony.

I lived on the tenth floor once myself and it was absolutely horrible for me; my cat once jumped over the fence and ended on the neighbor´s balcony, just imagine I nearly suffered a heard attack! And he was so lucky not to have fallen down..

    So, prevent accidents! They happen!

  9. I disagree with those that say she won't jump.  Cats become so entranced, so hypnotized by birds, squirrels, or whatever that they lose themselves in the reality of their personal safety.  I have seen my cat crash into a closed window pane several times.  I wouldn't even think about risking it.
