If i play a soprano ukulele with guitar, what capo should the guitar be in?

Question

if i play a standard 13" soprano ukulele tuned g c e a. what should a regular acoustic guitar be capo'd in for the chords to match.

because when i play with a friend despite us playing the same chords it sounds off. so i suppose the guitar has to be capo'd higher?

Well there are a few different ways.  For one, you could tune the guitar to the same type tuning - but I wouldn't suggest that.  You could also tune the D string (third from the top) a step up to E and the B string (second from the bottom) a half step to C. (EAEGCE)  However, either way would be difficult (well more than normal) to play chords on the guitar.  I cant think of a place a capo would give a direct match. If you are wanting chords, I would just leave the guitar standard... If you want to play the exact same stuff, I would suggest doing one of the two things at the top.  Hopefully, someone will have a better answer and know where to capo it! Good Luck.

Capo the guitar at the fifth fret.  If that does not work then one (or both) of the instruments are not tuned to proper pitch.
