  1. if it is command wide or your CoC says so..YES.

  2. It would depend on the mission at hand.  Staff duty for my unit is from 0800 to 0800.  If I had a detail to attend at 1900, 11 hours of sleep is more than enough to replenish energy and that's how my unit would see it.  Normally they would leave those who came off Staff Duty alone, but sometimes because of the short resources, you gotta do what you gotta do.

Look at it this way.  If extra duty stays until 2359 and then has to wake up in time for 1st formation at 0630, that's only about 5 1/2 hours of potential sleep because most will wake up an hour before formation to get ready.  You have almost TWICE that amount to recooperate.

A good friend of mine and a fellow Systems Chief had pulled Staff Duty and then had to be present for the incoming Commander's inventory the day he was supposed to be off.  We all worked together to get his stuff inventoried first so he could go home faster.

If you knew you had to be on a detail at 1900 the next day, then why didn't you request for someone who was not going to be on that detail to take your place instead???

  3. You might want to ask your command and not us out here..

That will depend entirely on your command and how important the detail is..

When we pulled duty in our home base we were given the next 24 hours off unless there was some important event we had to attend.
