  1. Putting a small amount of gasoline down the hole where the spark plug goes and kick starting is sometimes a good way to check the engine if the carburetor or valves aren't working. IF! the engine is ok and not needing repaired, It should start up, or 'turn on', but not very long if it's not getting gas from the carb.

Putting a small amount of oil down the plug hole and kicking a few times will lubricate the piston and temporarily increase compression meaning it 'might' make it easier to start for a few kicks.

Warning: While some some people use these methods, some recommend against it because they say it could blow something up or catch something on fire. I've never experienced this though.

Great advice is to have a fire extinguisher or water hose handy JUST INCASE! Gasoline can be dangerous stuff.

  2. No, because there isn't enough room in the SPARK PLUG to put anything into it.

If you put a little bit of gas in a CYLINDER with a spark plug, it will detonate at least once.

What are you trying to do?

  3. if someone put oil/gas down your sparkplug hole, would it turn you on ?

  4. Try putting a little gas in the carb first. Just pour a little in it where the aircleaner goes.
