If i put a spectrum light on top of a plastic cage will it melt it?

i have one of those spectrum lights that is longer than the cage so i was wondering if i put it on top of the plastic edge of the cage would it melt? its the 2.0 one.

Probely; distance the light from it it cant rest on that cover.

no...depends on how hot the light is...just try it.

Depends on how close you put it and what kind of plastic.

I would guess no. The UVA/UVB lights don`t put out lots of heat if any heat. now i`m not looking at your cage so i can`t say for sure. But to be on the safe side you can try hanging it a few inches above the lid.
