If i put like rocks on recycling cans do i get more money?

because i heard that they pay u by pounds of cans. how much money do they give u by pound in california? and if they pay you by weight cant i just put like rocks or something? would it be possible?

if you want to make more money recycling, then visit garbage cans at public places, you'll find tons of cans.

Yes but slightly dishonest.  Its almost ruling out the good deed of recycling isnt it?  Besides, the amount of money they pay you really isnt usually that great, and also the rocks may affect the recycling process.  Entirely your choice though :)

The place I take my cans to runs the cans across a conveyor belt which shoots the into a scale.  The scale is about three feet from the end of the belt so that anything heavy will more than likely fall down into a trash bin below.  If they catch you doing that, they won't take your cans anymore.  I accumulate around 100 pounds in 9 months to a year and the last time I took them in I got 45 cents/pound.  Usually, they give you a better price during "Earth Week".
