  1. Most likely yes, but from experience some places have the craziest rules, so I would check with your local Tax Collectors office.

  2. Not necessarily.

If it is a 'NEW' car i.e. newly registered there are three (i believe) dates in the month that it can be taxed from and you will pay a years tax + one or two periods dependent on the date of registration but this can only be done by the new car dealer.

If you are referring to a 'new' car i.e. newly acquired by yourself, yes you will have to tax it from the start of the month.  However, if it is not currently taxed it should be SORN'd (Statutory Off Road Notice) which means that it cannot be used or parked on a public road.  If this IS NOT the case then you are liable for the road tax anyway.

  3. If you pay before the 1st Aug, you are paying for July, so yes, technically you are paying a full month for 3 days on the road.

  4. am affraid so its rubbish the way it works.

  5. It's only three days tax it for 1st August. There is no reason why your tax date can not run through until 29th july next year other than DVLC can't be bothered

  6. Yes you will.
