  3. It would depend on how you use your unit. Buying an energy star unit will not guarantee huge savings if you insist on running it at extremely low settings, do not take advantage of free flow of air when the heat is not intense, ceiling fans, etc....

    First I would like to say that I live in So. Florida. I recently got a new ac unit. After my first month my electric bill was cut in half. Amazing ... my jaw dropped. I was in such a panic about the cost of the unit. Wondering how to fit the new expense into my budget. I'm not too worried about that anymore. Remember to keep your filters clean.
