If i restore my ipod to factory settings will i lose everything?

im getting a notice on my computer when i plug in the ipod saying it cannot read the ipod and to click restore to factory settings....should i? what will happen?

yes, but if you have everything in iTunes then it will just sync right back.../

You might lose your taste for muffins.....you must decide if you're willing to take that risk. xx

a restore would start you out with a clean slate. aka remove everything on the ipod. if you are concerned about backing up the data, use a program like music rescue. it might not work being that your ipod sounds corrupted. give it a try.
