If yes, than would using an eleptical machine for 6 miles every other day be better healthier training, instead of running consecutively every day?

FYI, I can run 3 miles in 18 mins and 15 seconds.

  1. The only way you could get out of shape messing up your knees do you run on sidewalks because if you do switch to a local track immediatly

  2. It depends on how much you run at the moment a massive jump in the distance and regularity of your run will lead to overtraining you have to build up.

5 miles a day though is not a massive amount. Some people use that as their morning jog to wake up before doing their real training during the day.

  3. no you idiot...people run way more than you and they are not overtrained..german fernandez..the high school 2 mile record holder was doing 75 miles a week  thats like 11 miles a day

  4. Running five miles a day is nothing. The only thing I would be concerned about is not getting enough variety in your workout. Maybe throw in some speedwork, and long runs of about 10 miles, instead of only doing 5 mile runs. You also should have a rest day once a week. If your worried about getting injured, try running on softer surfaces like dirt or grass, that way you won't stress your joints too much.
