  1. I think that depends on your body. Who knows what could happen? But I mean, generally, I'd say running smaller distances would be better for you. They could still get a little bigger because they're toned.

  2. Aerobic exercise (i.e. running) tends to do more toning and less bulking of muscle. If you wanted to get bigger thighs, strength training and resistance training (i.e. weightlifting or dragging something behind you as you run) would help that.

Running should help you towards your goal, as well as help your overall health. Have fun!

  3. toning up means losing fat increasing muscle so either way you are going to gain muscle.

  4. Running at a slow pace will make you lose excess fat, however if you run faster, muscle will be gained.

So, to tone your body, remember to run slowly.

I have big thighs, but i am just learning to live with them because i am an athlete and do not want to stop running because of my thighs.

  5. If you're trying to add definition, then the mix should be a lighter workout for a longer period.  So long as you're not doing uphill sprints, you're going to get the kind of definition you want without bulking up if you do 1-2 miles a day, 6 days a week.  Note that in the first couple weeks, you might gain a little weight and feel like you're heading in the wrong direction.  This is normal as muscle is heavier than fat.  Keep it up and you'll burn off the fat.  Good luck!
