  1. No, the service engine light means that there is a fault code. It has nothing to do with the fuel level. My '98 Venture had a light that looked like a gas pump that would come on when it was down to about the last 3 or 4 gallons in the tank. If your ses light is on, take it in and get the codes scanned, then you will know what is wrong. BTW-just because the light is on, it does not always mean that the catalytic converter will be damaged like that other jacka** said. It just means that something is not sending the right signal to the cars on board computer. I've seen them come on in some cars because the gas cap wasn't screwed on tight enough.

  2. no, but a magical leprechaun from ireland will hop out of the rainbow with his wee lil' pot o' gold and start dancing the jig for you, i mean come on lady, you should no when ur about to run out of gas, u don't need no ************* service engine to alert u when u run out of ******* gas

  3. Not a chance. If you run out of gas, the motor will simply die. You then have to fill the tank enough to get the fuel pump submerged again so that it will pick up enough fuel to build pressure. If the SES light on the dash is blinking, it means that there is something so wrong with the way the motor is running that it is going to cause permanent damage to the catalytic convertor and it is trying to warn you to shut the motor down.
